Kashan Pervaiz is the first South Asian mayor that Tewkesbury Borough, in Gloucestershire, has had.

Breaking down barriers is something he鈥檚 passionate about, as he wanted to show his 11-year-old daughter that people in positions of power don鈥檛 have to look the same.

Last week he ran the London Marathon to crown his year in office, which comes to an end in May.

He spoke to 麻豆社 Radio Gloucestershire's Manny Masih.
