In this episode, ahead of the prosecution opening speech, Mat and Michelle, speak to Dr Hannah Fawcett, a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University to find out what it’s like to be a member of a jury on a major criminal trial.
The trial will follow a husband from Stockport accused of accused of drugging and raping his wife. 12 other men are alleged to have committed sexual offences against the same victim.
The husband and the 12 other co-defendants – who all deny the charges - will stand trial at the same time, at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.
One man has already pleaded guilty to all charges he faced.
