Family and friends of the former Libyan Prime Minister, Ali Zeidan, say he has been kidnapped, and no one has heard from him for eight days.

Opposition politicians and rights activists in Togo have called for an independent investigation into violence at demonstrations against the governing Gnassingb茅 family, in which at least two people were killed. And in Sierra Leone, there are appeals for more to be done for the hundreds of residents and children displaced by the devastating mudslides in Freetown.
