Cameroon army launches operation in North-West Region
The operation dubbed "Bamenda Clean" has the stated aim of restoring order to the capital of the Northwest Region.
Cameroon鈥檚 security forces have launched an operation to restore security in Bamenda. The operation dubbed "Bamenda Clean" has the stated aim of restoring order to the capital of the Northwest Region which the army claims has been the target of attacks by what it calls "terrorists and criminals". Bamenda is one of the cities at the heart of unrest in the English-speaking parts of the country.
Zimbabwe bans mining operations in the country's national parks following an outcry over proposed mining activities in Hwange National Park by two Chinese companies.
