Liberia: President Weah imposes curfew in Maryland after riots

Liberia's President George Weah has imposed a night-time curfew on the county of Maryland, following days of violent demonstrations involving tens of thousands of mostly female protesters. At least 90 inmates escaped from a local jail during the protests, with police saying demonstrators broke into the county鈥檚 prison compound in search of the alleged killer of a motorcyclist.
Plus, the mayor of Freetown in Sierra Leone, Yvonne Aki-Sawyer, has found herself at the centre of a controversy, after remarks she made to her APC party members were leaked.
