Somalia: President backs down over plans to extended his term
President Farmaajo has backed down from his attempt to extend his tenure by two years.
In Somalia, President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has said he will no longer seek a two-year extension to his term in office. The move had been viewed as political and sparked clan-based fighting in Mogadishu between soldiers supporting and opposing him.
South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa is testifying as a witness at an inquiry into allegations of corruption under his predecessor Jacob Zuma.
