Macron visits Rwanda to mend diplomatic relations
President Macron says his country asks for forgiveness over its role in the 1994 killings
The French President Emmanuel Macron said France recognised its 鈥渞esponsibility鈥 in the 1994 Rwandan genocide and asked for forgiveness for his country鈥檚 role. The comments came during a speech at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where 250,000 victims of the mass killings are buried.
Dozens of people are missing in north-western Nigeria after a boat carrying around 100 passengers sank in the Niger River, according to local officials.
