Zambia: Political violence ahead of August鈥檚 elections

There鈥檚 been a rise in political violence ahead of Zambia鈥檚 August elections with President Edgar Lungu threatening to intervene to quell the violence.

We hear from Laura Miti from the organisation Alliance for Community Action in Zambia. There have been incidents of politically-motivated violence in the country ahead of elections taking place in August. President Edgar Lungu says the government will step in to quell the unrest if the police and electoral commission are unable to.

Plus, Uganda鈥檚 Permanent Secretary in the Minsitry of Health Dr Diana Atwine discusses the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the country.
