The English Channel deaths
We discuss why people risk their lives to cross the English Channel into the UK
Britain and France have called for stronger international coordination to tackle human trafficking, after at least 27 people died trying to cross the English Channel. Despite the deaths, more boats have arrived in the UK today, and we鈥檒l spend most of the programme discussing why people want to reach Britain.
We鈥檒l hear voices from the countries of those who died yesterday to hear why people are leaving. And we put audience questions to our experts about how people arrive in Europe, and what happens after they have reached the continent.
We鈥檒l look again at the wave of Covid infections across Europe and discuss the developments with our regular health expert Dr Emma Hodcroft in Switzerland.
