Kenya and Morocco announce wage increases
The governments of Morocco and Kenya are increasing the minimum wage for workers.
Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta has used Labour day to announce a 12% rise in the national minimum wage. Meanwhile Morocco plans to increase civil servants’ pay by 16%, and raise pay for other workers by 10%.
The family of Paul Rusesabagina, currently serving 25 years in prison in Rwanda for terrorism charges, has filed a $400m lawsuit in the US over his alleged abduction and torture.
And in a report from the Poland/Ukraine border, we hear about the racism faced by Africans as they tried to escape the war in Ukraine.
