South Africa: Fury over Ryanair language test

The airline claims it is to weed out travellers on fraudulent South African passports

South Africans have condemned Irish airline Ryanair for making them take a test in the Afrikaans language on UK flights, calling it discriminatory.
Many say they cannot understand Afrikaans - a language which was imposed during white-minority rule, plus South Africa has 11 official languages.

Gunmen attacked a Catholic church in Nigeria during mass on Sunday, killing at least 50 people including women and children before setting off dynamites that had congregants scampering to escape the explosions according to local and eyewitness reports.

Boris Johnson is facing a vote of no confidence in his leadership on Monday as growing number of Conservative MPs have publicly called for his resignation over his handling of the partygate scandal.
