Kenya has authorised the cultivation and importation of genetically modified crops and animal feeds, ending a ten-year ban that had been imposed to protect small hold farmers, crop diversity and even to allay fears that they cause ill health. What will the reversal mean? We hear from a professor in microbiology on the risks and potential benefits.
