Chad: Several killed in protests
Several people have been killed in protests in Chad, after the military under leader Mahamat D茅by refused to hand over power to a civilian administration.
Several people have been killed during demonstrations in Chad, which took place after military ruler Mahamat D茅by refused to honour a timetable to hand over power to a civilian administration. Hundreds took to the streets in N鈥橠jamena, with the authorities saying around 30 people were killed, including around a dozen members of the military and police. We speak to journalist Mahamat Adamou in N鈥橠jamena.
Plus, we speak to the headteacher of Wakadogo School in Gulu in Uganda, which has received global recognition, winning T4 Education鈥檚 World鈥檚 Best School Prize. Odong Charles Kigundi says those at the school are proud and humbled to win the award.
And a 麻豆社 investigation reveals that 2,500 children died of malnutrition in Ethiopia鈥檚 Tigray region since last year. The United Nations says around five million people in the region need humanitarian aid.
