Tanzania battles Kilimanjaro fires

Large flames and a blanket of smoke engulfed parts of the forest surrounding the mountain.

We get an update on the fire which broke out on the continent鈥檚 tallest mountain, Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania, on Friday, near one of the most popular climbing routes. Emergency workers say they have managed to contain parts of it.

Peace talks between the Ethiopian government and the Tigrayan People鈥檚 Liberation Front are set to begin in South Africa. They are aiming to bring an end to the two-year civil war in Tigray.

Uganda鈥檚 Health Minister, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng has said a further nine people have tested positive for the Ebola virus in Kampala, bringing the number of known cases to 14.
