France calls time on anti-jihadist Operation Barkhane in Sahel
French President Emmanuel Macron has announced聽that the eight-year military operation in the Sahel will officially end.
In a major rethink of strategic priorities, France鈥檚 President Emmanuel Macron has declared that 'Operation Barkhane' in Africa's Sahel region 鈥� which was launched in 2013 to push back the advance of jihadist insurgents - will formally end.
The families of 21 teenagers who died in a bar in South Africa have lodged a complaint with the country's Human Rights Commission calling for further investigation into the cause of the deaths.
