DRC army claims to have retaken some areas from rebels
The army in the Democratic Republic of Congo says it has retaken areas occupied by the M23 rebel group in the east

DR Congo's army and police have retaken control of several areas in the eastern North Kivu province from the M23 rebel movement. A spokesperson of the army has been quoted by local media as saying that they have halted M23鈥檚 advance on the provincial capital Goma.
The International Committee of the Red Cross says a convoy of two trucks carrying medical aid arrived in Mekelle on Tuesday after a ceasefire was declared between rebels and the Ethiopian government earlier this month. The World Food Programme have also said that they have begun sending mixed aid to some areas.
Ghana's Central Bank has withdrawn foreign exchange support for the importation of rice, poultry, vegetable oil, toothpicks, pasta, fruit juice, bottled water, ceramic tiles, and other non-critical goods. The move, it says, is part of measures to reduce high demand for the US dollar and address the depreciation of the Cedi. So how are importers feeling about this?
