Ceasefire declared in eastern DRC

At least one million people have been displaced this year due to fighting between Congolese troops and M23 rebels.

A cessation of hostilities has been declared in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Armed groups have until Friday to retreat from the territories they have occupied in recent months.
