What is the legacy of the Ake festival?

The Ake festival in Nigeria was started to celebrate and give emerging African writers a platform. As it marks its tenth anniversary, a question mark hangs over its future.

Ten years ago a remarkable festival began in Abeokuta, Nigeria. Authors, poets and fans of reading and writing alike gathered there for the first ever Ake Arts and Book Festival.

The Vice President of Malawi Saulos Klaus Chilima has been charged with corruption and other charges by the Malawi Anti Corruption Bureau.
