Alieu Kosiah, a commander during Liberia鈥檚 first civil war in the 1990s, is seeking to overturn a conviction on 22 war crimes counts handed down by a Swiss court. The United Liberation Movement of Liberia for Democracy commander became the first Liberian to be convicted over the country's civil war in 2021.
Plus, Uganda has officially declared the end of a four-month Ebola outbreak which killed more than 50 people. It was the second-worst in the country鈥檚 history.
And we meet Cameroon-born applied mathematics professor Abdon Atangana, voted the world鈥檚 second-best mathematician by Stanford University.
