An army commander and several soldiers were killed in an Islamist attack on a military base in Mogadishu.
A Somali senior army commander has been killed in an Islamist attack on a military base north of the capital Mogadishu but despite the deadly attack, the government says gains they are making against al-Shabab are holding.
The murdered Kenyan LGBTQ activist, Edwin Chiloba, is laid to rest at his family village.
