Gunmen attack election office ahead of Nigeria vote
Nearly 800 ballot boxes were destroyed in an election office in the south-eastern state of Anambra.
Nigeria’s electoral body says nearly 800 ballot boxes and over 200 voting cubicles were destroyed during an attack on one of its offices in the south-eastern state of Anambra. Elsewhere, citizens are reporting problems collecting their permanent voters’ cards.
Pope Francis has urged young people in the Democratic Republic of Congo to forge a future free of corruption and distrust. He addressed more than 65,000 youths at Martyrs stadium in Kinshasa.
