Rwanda to release 'Hotel Rwanda' hero

Paul Kagame critic, Paul Rusesabagina is to be released from prison in Kigali on Saturday

Rwanda has announced that it will release the human rights activist, Paul Rusesabagina. He was serving a 25-year prison sentence for terrorism in what his family called "a sham trial." Mr. Rusasebagina was portrayed as a hero who saved thousands of Tutsis during the 1994 genocide, in the award-winning film, Hotel Rwanda. He has been a vocal critic of President Paul Kagame in recent years.

Also in the programme: DRC President, Felix Tshisekedi, has appointed former rebel leader, Jean Pierre Bemba, as his new defence minister.

And it's nearly six years since one of the world's biggest diamonds was found in Sierra Leone. We hear from the diggers who found the precious stone.
