Thursday Sudan truce agreed
Fighting is continuing in various parts of Sudan as a ceasefire is agreed for Thursday.
Fighting is continuing in various parts of Sudan. The army chief, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo of the rival Rapid Support Forces paramilitary group, have agreed to a seven day ceasefire starting on Thursday. The two have also agreed to sit down for peace talks in neighbouring South Sudan.
The candidates to contest the presidential election in Sierra Leone in June have been confirmed, following the approval by the electoral commission of the nominations of the incumbent, Julius Maada Bio and his running-mate.
And the South African government is scrapping special status permits, which allow thousands of Zimbabweans to escape hardship back home to work in South Africa.
