Sierra Leone opposition on elections
Focus on Africa spoke to Sierra Leone opposition candidate, Samura Kamara.
General elections are coming up in Sierra Leone on 24th June. President Julius Maada Bio is determined to win a second, five-year term. But the man he defeated in 2018, Dr Samura Kamara, has expressed a determination win the presidency. Focus on Africa spoke to Dr Kamara.
Fighting in Sudan between the national army, and the Rapid Support Forces has been going on for just over three weeks. The latest attempt to get the two sides to agree to a ceasefire is taking place in Saudi Arabia
And the internationally-acclaimed author, Tsitsi Dangeremba, who was shortlisted for the Booker prize in 2020 has had her conviction of inciting violence in Zimbabwe overturned.
