IMF approves $3.5bn loan for Ivory Coast

The country has been under financial strain.

The IMF has approved a $3.5bn loan for Ivory Coast. It said the loan will help the country tackle the triple shocks of the Covid pandemic, global monetary tightening and Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

China's embassy in Kenya has denied a Reuters news agency report that Chinese hackers attacked key state agencies in the capital, Nairobi, including the presidency.
