The former French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, has started his five- year sentence at La Sant茅 prison in central Paris. Sarkozy was convicted of criminal conspiracy to finance his election campaign with funds from the Libyan dictator, Muammar Gaddafi. He denies wrongdoing.
