US to cut troop levels in Germany by 5,000
The decision comes a day after Trump criticised Merz, who suggested the US had been "humiliated" by Iranian negotiators.
The US says it will withdraw 5,000 of its soldiers from Germany, amid a widening rift between the two governments. President Trump has criticised the German chancellor, Friedrich Merz, for not sending forces to help open the Strait of Hormuz.
