Remembering the life of Pope Francis
Mark Lowen speaks to Catholics in Rome as they share their memories of Pope Francis who died on Easter Monday
Mark Lowen in Rome brings people together to share their memories of the Pope, who died on Easter Monday.
In our conversations, Mark hears from Catholics in Argentina, including one of Pope Francis鈥 friends who knew him when he was a priest in Buenos Aires. We also bring together three people from Northern Ireland who had a private audience with the Pope, and three women who describe how he changed their lives.
鈥淗e was the people鈥檚 Pope,鈥 Monica in New York tells us. 鈥淚t was an honour to be in his presence.鈥
Mark sits down with Iraqi American Pilgrims in a caf茅 just outside the Vatican to chat about what the Pope meant to them.
鈥淗e acted like Jesus,鈥 Savannah says. 鈥淛esus hung out with all the people that were outcasts and the poor, and Pope Francis really brought that mentality back 鈥 as Christians, as Catholics, that is how we should all be acting.鈥
