Outlook Mixtape: Six degrees of... Kevin
From Kevin Bacon to an interstellar musical, we share stories linked by one name - Kevin.
What do an Oscar-nominated actor, a roundabout enthusiast, an artist staging a space musical with his mum, and a French film-maker trying to rescue the name Kevin have in common?
In this edition of the Outlook Mixtape, we follow a chain of crazy stories – all linked by one name.
We begin, of course, with Kevin Bacon, whose name has become shorthand for the idea that anyone can be connected in just a few steps and tells us how it all came about. From there, the trail spools out to Australian-Iranian artist HOSSEI, who cast his own mother in his space musical, to the UK, where Kevin Beresford has devoted years to celebrating the beauty and brilliance of roundabouts, and his continuing search for 'roundabout of the year'. And to France, where film-maker Kevin Fafournoux is pushing back against the surprising stigma attached to his name.
