Another staff member dug out this one - it's the first Radio 1 annual from 1969.
Some of the features included:
- Radio 1 stars gave their tips for budding deejays including "DO be natural, even though you may not 'talk posh'"
- 'Me and My Cars' by Dave Cash
- 'Jazz according to Humphrey Lyttleton'
- Ken Dodd's guide to London
- An informative article about golf written by Harry Secombe
- An interview with Marmalade
- An explanation as to why there were no female DJs on Radio 1. Apparently "Quite a few applied - but their demo tapes tended to raise laughs in all the wrong places."
Another producer said: 'Somehow a woman's voice becomes monotomous after a while to me" - luckily Radio 1 employed their first female DJ a year later.
