 Listen to the item
Garland dancing聽is a sort of female Morris dancing which supposedly originated in Lancashire. The Swale family, despite living in Scarborough in聽Yorkshire, are practitioners of the noble art - 聽all three generations of them. There's Sheila, Cyril, their聽grown-up daughters Maureen, who works in a bank and Ann, a hospital clerk, plus the聽latest recruit, granddaughter Sophie.
Home Truths reporter Philippa Budgen took the train North to meet them.聽
