A tale of how an unguarded remark in a rural hairdressers turned into the search for the woman with half-hairy legs - with results!
Last week Home Truths received this phone call:
"When I visited a hairdressers in Stowmarket, several years ago now, I was sitting in Cut n' Curl, I was really amused by a client's response to a comment made by the hairdresser, "Well, she's a schoolteacher, so she's all right, but she's the sort of woman who only ever shaves the fronts of her legs."
I have for years been walking round Stowmarket, looking for someone with beautiful hair-free front legs, and very long hairs down the back of their legs!"
There's no hiding place from the Home Truths tentacles - this week came the response from Linda Newby:
"I believe I am the teacher reputed to have the hairy backs of legs. I was born and brought up just outside Stowmarket, and my wicked little sister lives in Stowmarket still. She, a long time ago, accused me of shaving only the front of my legs. I hotly refute this! I can't tackle my sister at the moment, as she is on holiday. When I next see her we'll certainly have a big scrap. All Stowmarket will hear her screams!"
