Relief of a guard at Susa

ÌýThis panel shows a guard dressed in a richly decorated Persian costume with a bow, quiver and spear, facing right. Originally this figure was part of a procession of similar guards, perhaps the ‘Immortals’ who formed the king’s personal bodyguard. The bricks are made of faience in brown, yellow, white, green and black.
