My husband, having lit the fire, snoozes.
Just out of vision,two cats sleep on the window seat, a Golden retriever has just stolen a sock from the laundy basket, a Spaniel watches me closely. The clock shows 5pm.
All's well with the world in Cushuish, a hamlet in the Quantock Hills near Taunton.
