Are women really too afraid to cycle? 22 Jun 2006
Darlington is one of three places in Britain chosen as a pilot scheme to encourage people to use alternative forms of transport... and it seems that women are more reluctant than men to get out of their cars and hop onto a bike. A survey found that only 15 per cent of cycle trips were made by women. So why are women reluctant to climb into the saddle?
