Are women more eccentric than men?
On Woman’s Hour we’ve often reported on the growing numbers of women breaking into areas that were traditionally the preserve of men – be it medicine, law, architecture or engineering. Now we’ve cracked something else – more and more women are being classed as eccentrics. With some notable exceptions eccentricity used to be the preserve of men – think Howard Hughes or Salvador Dali - but no more.Ìý neuropsychologist David Weeks joins Jenni to discussion his research thatÌýsuggests more & more women, especially as they get older, are caring less and less about what people think of them.
