Ketamine is traditionally used as an anaesthetic both within medical and veterinary surgery, but there is evidence that its misuse is on the rise - particularly amongst those on the club scene. Encountering the white powder for the first time, many mistake it for cocaine and find themselves having an unexpected reactionÌý– they slide into a semi catatonic state that leaves them unable to coordinate their limbs and communicate with those around them. Traditionally hallucinogens like Ketamine and LSD have been seen as male drugs, so why is Ketamine increasingly popular with women and what are the risks? Jenni will be talking to a recreational user of Ketamine, to Dr Fiona Measham [who has recently done research on Ketamine misuse] and to Harry Shapiro of the charity DrugScope.
