Celebrating 50 years of achievement

Women rowers from across the world are set to compete against each other at Henley Women's Regatta, in Oxfordshire.

The fixture celebrated it's tenth anniversary in 1997, and now attracts over three hundred crews who race each other over a 15 hundred metre course for a chance to win one of 21 trophies.

This year, Bedford Ladies Rowing Club - who row under the name 'Star rowing club' are celebrating their own anniversary - fifty years of women's rowing in the town. To mark the event, an exhibition ofÌýmemorabilia is on display at Bedford museum.

Catherine Carr went to see the display, and also popped along to the boat house as the ladies' senior squad were preparing for an afternoon of racing at Star's own annual regatta.
