贬补濒貌!

Here we are at the end of another month and I must say I鈥檝e not found a place in the Highlands I haven鈥檛 liked 鈥 although there are another 7 months to go, so I might yet!

I am now looking forward to our onward journey to Aviemore and getting up those Cairngorms! I just love that part of the country. Munro wants to attend some kind of music festival in Rothiemurchus at the end of next month but I think I may be a bit too old for that entire racket. It is called The Outsider Festival (or something like that) and he assures me that there are mountain walks and biking involved. I remember what these festivals were like in the 60s and there was nothing too healthy about them, I can tell you! I am on my 鈥渢rip of a lifetime鈥 though so I should probably try something new and 鈥済et down with the kids鈥 as they say!

The Big Willow project was a great success on Saturday and I think Morag has found a new vocation in life - apart from brewing a cuppa of course!

Talking of tea I think I鈥檒l go and have one,

Hal貌 a h-uile duine!

Tha mi gu math! Ciamar a tha thu?

We had another little adventure yesterday, we took the bus to Ullapool! There was a book festival on there and Morag and Melodaidh were keen to attend so I thought I鈥檇 like to see the quaint little town and gaze longingly over to the Cuillins of Skye ;)

Ullapool really is a lovely little fishing village 鈥 not that I鈥檓 one for the boats mind. No, these legs were made for walking, not seafaring I鈥檓 afraid. Mel and Morag went on a boat trip to Isle Martin for some kind of poetry recital but I didn鈥檛 feel up to it yesterday. I鈥檒l go on a ferry when I have to but not by choice. The old crossing over the sea to Skye even used to turn my gills green! Boats and planes are not my thing.

I read a very interesting article in the paper the other day. It claimed that if everybody were to take a 20-minute walk everyday then it would eradicate obesity and heart problems. Man was designed to walk you see 鈥 we do far too much sitting nowadays! Sitting on the couch for dinner, sitting on a plane, sitting on a bus, sitting at a computer 鈥 too much sitting and not enough walking I say!

Anyway, I鈥檇 better go and finish my basket. Dwelly has set us a basket-making task and I tell you these tasks are getting to be a bit tedious. Morag has mastered the craft though and I made a lovely little basket to put my boots in after a day on the hill.

Hal貌 is ciamar a tha sibh? Tha mi an d貌chas gu bheil sibh uile gu math. Tha sinn ann an Inbhir Pheofharain!

Here we are in the town of Dingwall. Ross and Cromarty is such a nice district, you would hardly believe that it is so close to the city of Inverness. I鈥檓 looking forward to exploring the Black Isle and we may even venture as far as Ullapool. We are planning a day in Strathpeffer today, there is a Scottish Archaeological Fair on at the Pavilion there 鈥 that is another lovely little town 鈥 yes I鈥檓 quite looking forward to the day, I鈥檓 very enthused to learn about local and national history and archaeology just fascinates me. The Highland culture is particularly diverse. But anyway look at the time, I must dash. I wouldn鈥檛 want to be late now!
