We were stationed in the US airforce at RAF Kirknewton in the 60's. I was jealous of my friends who had traditional kilts to wear to school on holidays. I did wear a school uniform at Carnwath. At Auchengray we just wore what we had. The most handsome boy in the world wore shorts a vest and jacket with a tie and grey shirt. I still think of Daniel as a handsome guy. When I go for job interviews here I usually wind up with a version of my school uniform. A grey pleated skirt, white blouse, and a black jacket (no tie)

I lived in Tarbrax from 1961-64 and had forgotten that the American children went to the Scottish schools. Then I remembered the Shoemaker's 2 little girls wearing uniforms. I am putting together a roster of Americans who lived in Tarbrax. Would like more names if anyone has them. Please send any info to gemwhite@aol.com.

I remember a Cindy Shoemaker who was in my class at carnwath primary and often wonder if any of them remember village school life back in scotland in the 60's. There was also a Darlene but cannot remember her last name.
