Than goodness for oil, many boreing days spent in the peat hill in the 50s and 60s
the bargain with our folks was that we always got home in time for the Lone Ranger and Juke Box Jury.

We cut lots of peat in the Western isles. When I left 10 years ago it was still being cut by most homes. When I visited last summer no one in our village cut peats any more
Hard work but the smoke smells grand!
