Their mum Jak hasn鈥檛 had a drink for eleven months now and she鈥檚 doing alright. They鈥檝e even got a morning routine. She forgets words sometimes, but she might not have known them in the first place. And that鈥檚 how it is, in recovery. Skye is 15 and Dexter's six, and they live in Gainsborough in Lincolnshire. Skye has always had to look out for Dex. But now Skye 鈥榮 going on a school trip, if she can be sure that Jak will stick to the plan. The story was developed with the help of the Young Carers' Transition Project in Nottingham, which receives funding from 麻豆社 Children in Need and through longterm research with young people and families in Gainsborough.
