A creatively moving musical feature which tells the story of Sofiia, a 16 year old refugee from Ukraine, and her escape from her war-torn homeland to a music technology course in a Scottish university. A personal perspective of a teenager caught up in war. This series of New Storytellers is presenting the winners of the Charles Parker Prize for the Best Student Radio Feature 2025. This award-winning feature was created by Sofiia Fylypiv who is studying for a Higher National Certificate at the University of the Highlands and Islands in Perth. According to the judges her feature was “thought-provoking, emotionally engaging, with highly skilled radio production values for one so young and totally original use of music…this feature showed expressiveness, storytelling skill, combined with subtle mix of music and effects….
