Throughout the week, Elizabeth Alker introduces an afternoon of compelling performances from the Â鶹Éç Scottish Symphony Orchestra in their 90th anniversary year and shines a spotlight on violin concertos of the Romantic era. There’s also music from Sweden, including recitals by Piotr Anderszewski, the Swedish Radio Choir and the 2025 Change Music Festival. It’s a Â鶹Éç Scottish Symphony Orchestra takeover today. Classical Live opens with Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony, with Ryan Wigglesworth doing the honours; we’ll hear Mozart’s Incidental Music for Thamos, King of Egypt, performed with Ludovic Morlot; and finally, Bomsori Kim is the soloist with Wigglesworth conducting the Â鶹ÉçSSO in a performance of Sibelius’s Violin Concerto, filling today’s Romantic violin concerto slot.
