This week, Soweto welcomes South London saxophonist, vocalist, producer and field recordist Laura Misch as his 4/4 guest. Laura creates sonic worlds that are deeply inspired by the natural world. Most recently, her forthcoming album “Lithic” features music recorded in locations including Dungeness’ pebbles beach, and cliffs, caves, and a treehouse in Cornwall. From Monday to Thursday, Laura is sharing some of the albums that continue to inspire her, for our 4/4 feature. To begin her week, she chooses a record by a fellow saxophonist that she admires. There is also music from Naiyah, Alina Bzhezhinska, and King Oliver. ‘Round Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch.
