'Based on the concept of our upcoming album Dreamscapes, we wanted our Essential Mix to represent the moments between dusk and dawn. The mix has three moods; sunset, a night on the dance floor, and sunrise, condensed into two hours. It comprises the music we make, the music we love, and the music we play in those moments. The first 40 minutes of the mix is for the sun setting, having sundowners with friends or vibing on a beach somewhere. Memories of summer, the promise of a beautiful night ahead. Then we move slowly into harder and darker grooves, some of our favourite tracks to play out, tunes to lose yourself in the darkness to, to turn it up to, to feel euphoric. It’s how we love to play in the depths of the night. Then suddenly, the sun is rising. This is when we love big, beautiful, uplifting tunes that fade softly into the wind down. Emotion, nostalgia and finding your way home, taking the memories with you. The mix includes seven new remixes and originals from ‘Dreamscapes’, and some of these are exclusive first plays. We have also included some of our favourite tracks to play out, unreleased beauties from favourite artists and friends, as well as some oldies and classics that we love. As we are both from England, and this is for Radio One, there is also an emphasis on British artists. A celebration of British music that has influenced us over the years.
