Pianist Steven Osborne performs music by Schubert in tribute to the late pianist Alfred Brendel. Schubert鈥檚 feverish Sonata in C minor D958 was written towards the end of his short life, during a period of great creativity despite increasing illness. His Four Impromptus D899 written around the same time have become musical miniatures at the heart of piano repertoire. Steven Osborne pairs Schubert鈥檚 music with works by James MacMillan and Judith Weir. Recorded at the Queen鈥檚 Hall during the Edinburgh International Festival 2026 and presented by Stephen Broad.
