Chris Wathan takes your calls on stockpiling, abuse of amateur referees and night shifts

The Phone In

Available for 28 days

Every one of us should stockpile water and food supplies, according to the UK Government. The ‘Be Ready’ campaign aims to prepare us for the potential impact of climate change, cyber-attacks, or other threats by hostile states. We’re being urged to stock up to nine litres of bottled water and three days’ worth of food. How do you feel about being advised to stockpile? Have you witnessed abuse towards referees during amateur sports matches? Dyfed-Powys Police has been investigating an alleged incident during an under 15s football match in Milford Haven, involving parents and children. And Neill Crawshaw, chairman of the Pembrokeshire Referees Society, has said that stronger sanctions are needed to protect officials. This comes as the 2026 Grassroots Football Report surveyed volunteers from more than 40 grassroots clubs in Wales. Nearly six in ten club representatives said they have witnessed abuse directed at a match official. And the clocks go back on Sunday - it may mean an extra hour in bed for many of us. But if you work nights, it means a longer shift than usual! There are millions of people who work while most of us are asleep. If you’ve ever been a night worker - what are the secrets to a successful night shift? Call or WhatsApp 03700 100 110. Text 8 10 12. Be part of the nation's conversation
