Dr Ivan Herbison tells Helen Mark that many of the weaver poets had radical sympathies. They wrote about their fellow peasants, peasant society, the giving and receiving of gifts - part of the culture - and he reads a poem by his forebear David Herbison to drive away a mouse! He also discusses how the poets composed their poetry, which was part of a larger oral tradition. (Broadcast: 29/05/1999)
