Operation Scarlet was launched over a year ago to reduce prostitution and associated crime in Derby. The Normanton area, which has a predominantly Asian population, has seen local residents setting up community patrols. It was as a result of some locals in the area forming these groups that action was taken. New signs were erected last year where police named and shamed those caught and convicted.
